If Gotham Knights is lost in the Arkham series' shadow and Suicide Squad is yet another poorly-received live service game, it would make sense for Warner Bros. The key factor here is going to be how well these games are received. ![]() ![]() And none of that is factoring in any sort of delay. A Batman game would overshadow any futures updates to Suicide Squad as well, which is set to launch in 2022, so that pushes the idea of a Batman game out even further, possibly to 2024. Interactive Entertainment probably doesn't want to release a Batman game around the same time that he's featured in Suicide Squad. As the title suggests, because Batman is a member of the Justice League, there's a good chance that he will eventually be an enemy or boss of some sort in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. It's also important to factor in Batman's involved in Suicide Squad. If Gotham Knights sticks to the four characters that have been announced and nothing changes, a true Batman game will probably not be seen until 2023 at the earliest. It's been five years since the release of Batman: Arkham Knightand it looks like the wait is going to continue. It's certainly possible that in Gotham Knights, Batman isn't actually dead and he becomes a secret fifth playable character at the end of the game. That's not something that should be considered likely, given what's currently known about Gotham Knights' story and gameplay, but it can't be entirely ruled out either. On top of that, it was also announced that Rocksteady Games' Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was the new game that would actually be set in the Arkham universe a game in which players will likely end up fighting against Batman. ![]() Fans were caught off guard by the news that in Gotham Knights, Bruce Wayne is actually dead and not a playable character. ![]()
